Privacy Policy

CatPeePoop (Android and iPhone)

In short — You can use the whole app without an account, and everything you write stays on your device. If you sign in and subscribe to Pro, your records are also kept in the cloud so they follow you to another device. Photos are never uploaded. The Android version shows a banner ad; the iPhone version has no ads.

1. What you enter

Cat profiles — name, birthday, sex, profile photo
Records — urine and stool counts, play sessions, weight, notes
App settings — whether the reminder is on, and its time

All of it is written by you and kept in your device storage first.

2. Account and cloud sync

Signing in is optional. Without it the app works fully and nothing leaves your device. You sign in only when you want the same records on more than one device.

Sign-in uses Firebase Authentication with Google, Apple, or an email address. We receive your account identifier, your email address, and your display name if the provider supplies one. We never see your password.

When cloud sync is on, these are stored under your account:

Records are stored on Google Cloud Firestore in the Seoul region (asia-northeast3). Only your own account can read them; access rules on the server reject anyone else.

3. Subscription

Pro is sold through Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Google — we never see your card details. When you subscribe, our server checks the receipt with the store and records that your account is entitled to Pro, along with which store the subscription came from and when it expires. Google Play also notifies our server when a subscription renews, is cancelled, or is refunded, so the entitlement stays correct on every device.

4. Device permissions

Photos and media — only when you pick a profile photo. The chosen photo is copied into the app's own storage; no other photo is read.
Camera — only when you take a profile photo.
Notifications — only to show the record reminder.
Internet access — to sync records when you are signed in, and to load the banner ad on Android.

Each permission is requested at the moment you use that feature, and declining any of them leaves every other feature working.

5. Ads

Android only. A banner appears at the bottom of the screen, served through Google AdMob. There are no full-screen interstitials. A rewarded video is shown only if you choose to watch one for an extra play session. The iPhone version contains no ad SDK at all. Pro removes ads.

To serve an ad, Google may process:

the advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID)
device details — model, OS version, language setting
approximate location inferred from your IP address (city level)
which ads were shown and which were tapped

Your records are not used for ads — Cat profiles, litter and weight records, notes, and photos are never passed to the ad provider.

You can reset or delete the advertising identifier at any time in your device settings. On Android, open Settings > Privacy > Ads. Ads still appear, but they are no longer tailored to your interests. How Google handles data for advertising is described in its partner sites policy.

6. Who else is involved

Google (Firebase) — sign-in and cloud storage of records
Google Play — subscription payment and receipt verification
Google AdMob — banner and rewarded ads, Android only
Apple — Sign in with Apple, if you choose it

We do not sell your data, and we use no analytics product such as Google Analytics.

7. Keeping and deleting

Uninstalling the app deletes everything stored on that device.
Deleting a cat profile deletes that cat's records and photo with it.
Any single day's record can be deleted inside the app at any time.
Records you deleted are removed from the cloud on the next sync.
To delete your account and everything stored under it, email us at the address below. We complete the deletion within 30 days.

If you cancel Pro, your records are not deleted. New records simply stop being kept in the cloud — what you already saved stays there and you can download it back into the app at any time, signed in, with or without Pro.

8. Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
